Donations for the Ranstrom Chapel

Don Ranstrom, The Belfry Pastor from 1970-1998, was instrumental in bringing campus ministry to A Street and purchasing the Belfry building so that LECM would have a permanent home. An important part of his vision for The Belfry, to have a dedicated chapel space, never fully came to fruition. His dream was to purchase the adjacent property to build a chapel. However, attempts to acquire the property didn’t succeed. That may yet happen – someday. But for now, we do have a space that could be – and has been – used as a chapel: the room most recently used as a library and conference room.

The Belfry Council has begun a campaign to establish a chapel at The Belfry and, because it was such a crucial part of Pastor Don’s vision, to name it in his honor. The Ranstrom Chapel is a space set aside for worship, consecrated and dedicated to prayer, meditation, and connection with the Holy Spirit. Pastor Don agreed to be a part of this project and has donated an alter table he crafted himself.

Our hope is that The Ranstrom Chapel would have a temporary home in the current Belfry building, and one day would be moved to a dedicated building, thus completing Pastor Don’s ultimate dream. Please consider helping us honor the ministry of Pastor Don Ranstrom and all the years he gave to the Belfry by bringing the gift of a worship space for the students to use now and in the years to come.
